Q&A: Is It Biblical For A Woman To Be The Head Of Or Teaching In The Church?

Question: Is It Biblical For A Woman To Be The Head Of Or Teaching In The Church?

Donald Bohanon: Not according to the Bible. There are women presently teaching the Bible and who are the heads of some churches but personally I would avoid them because teaching when God instructs you not to teach is a form of blatant and open defiance of God and his word.

And if they are blatantly defying God in regards to this issue they will probably be defying God as it relates to other issues and aspects of his word as well while trying to justify it by taking verses in scripture out of context. You will find the ones who are teaching at the same time completely rejecting and disregarding Gods true doctrine. Most of them seek their own glory and praise as opposed to ensuring that God receives the praise and glory.

1 Timothy 6:3-5 King James Version

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute/void/absent of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

This is how it normally happens it’s actually a form of pride and pride is condemned because it starts small and eventually grows to fully corrupt the individual who is being led by it and because of that it eventually leads to the destruction of the corrupted party. Because as it eludes to in Malachi 4:1-4, pride and wickedness in many respects are co-partners because full blown pride produces wickedness.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 King James Version

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

No, a woman shouldn’t be teaching in the Church at all. And if they are it will probably be cursed and will result in you being condemned when judged for following it because more than likely it will be filled with error because its not sanctioned by God. Now, its okay for them to witness outside of the church and lead people to a man of God or church that is teaching all of Gods word and his true doctrine and knows what he is talking about.

Not to a false minister which will only serve to lead them astray and away from God and his truths to their detriment which they will be held accountable for. And not her taking the lead role herself. God is not okay with anything that’s in direct conflict with his word, nor does he sanction anything that’s in direct conflict with his word.
