That sense of loneliness and emptiness can’t be satiated by good times. Good times may act as a temporary sedative, so to speak, that eventually wears off. But once that happens you will be right back to square one in your empty home or apartment or wherever you may reside with feelings of loneliness, discontentment, and emptiness, descending on you again because you haven’t addressed the spiritual aspect that needs to be satisfied and that can’t be satisfied any other way than by feeding the spirit through God’s word following it and correcting the spiritual flaws that cause the guilt and sorrow and finding a person who understands the importance of it also and is applying the same principles to his or her daily life.
You then establish a common spiritual bond, a spiritual connection, and then build on it which has a way of nourishing the physical, mental, and emotional, state of the man or woman. Spiritual growth is like a fountain of life that feeds outwardly that nourishes the mental, emotional, and physical state of the individual which is the real source of happiness and contentment.
True happiness and contentment can’t and wont come from working to acquire more stuff as props for praise and adulation that’s just another type of sedative that will eventually wear off while you’re once again faced with the reality of emptiness, discontentment, and loneliness that can’t be filled with more material gain, status, and stuff. Neither will you find it in a spiritually and or morally bankrupt mate whose primary motivation is acquiring wealth and material things with no focus on real spiritual growth, change, and correction.
That’s a lie and false narrative that has been pushed by Satan for centuries. Studies have actually shown those kinds of relationships usually end in divorce with bitter and unhappy partners. Wealth has its place, and is important, but its limited in the broader context of happiness and contentment.
That’s why some of the richest people in history have lived miserable lives and at the end of life they would confess that what they wished they had really done is used more of the wealth to help others and do acts of kindness because many claimed that was one component that brought them real happiness, joy, and contentment.
But its not surprising because this is what God outlines in his word. He doesn’t tell us these things for no reason he simply knows what produces true joy and happiness in his creation. And if just following one principle produces happiness and contentment what do you think would happen if you followed all of its principles?
More material things and connections with wealthy materialistic individuals who are lacking the wisdom and knowledge about what really produces a guilt free, happy, content life, just wont cut it. Feeling guiltless, being guilt free, is also a major contributor to happiness because guilt produces anger, bitterness, and unhappiness. And guilt comes from breaking God’s word and principles doing things you know in your heart you shouldn’t be doing which produces the guilt as your conscience convicts and troubles you. It’s better to be in the company of and heed the counsel of a poor man with Godly wisdom and character than a very rich man with none.
Psalm 1 King James Version
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
