Q&A: Didn’t God Emphasized Racial Purity Among Nations?

Donald Bohanon: I think I know where you are going with this. The answer to your question is yes to some degree. But it had nothing to do with race as many racist suggest and use as a means to justify racism.

But it had everything to do with behavior and obedience. Or disobedience in the case of those rebellious and defiant surrounding tribes which opposed Israel and hated God’s law and everything God represented…Race has never ever been an issue with God. It’s a non issue and completely insignificant in God’s eyes.

As God emphasized in Deuteronomy 7:6-8 he chose Israel as a nation because he loved them because of their fathers obedience and for the promise he made to their fathers which means Abraham and his lineage “Isaac and Jacob”.

Not because of a racial strain or lineage. Flaming racists (both white and black alike) will be some of the first in line to be cast into the Lake Of Fire because God despises racism with a deep hatred.

Because of how much death, sorrow and suffering, it brings upon the people it’s directed against. He hates it because of how evil and destructive it is. People are human beings with different personalities and character traits.

Race does not define who a person is. But behavior (which includes sexual behavior) does. God requires that we love all people equally and unbiasedly, regardless of skin color, race, or nationality.

After establishing Israel as a nation(actually even before he established them as a nation) God instructed them not to have any association with surrounding nations and tribes, not because of race or skin color but only because of the abominable sinful behavior of those surrounding nations.

Which included the worshipping of idols. The violent conquering of other nations as a result of lust for power. Burning their own children alive as sacrifices to demons they called God’s.Among other things. And Israel wasn’t innocent in the matter either.

They eventually adopted all the sick practices of those surrounding nations and tribes and eventually began practicing even more abominable evil than those surrounding nations and tribes. But God had warned them not to associate with those nations because he knew they would eventually follow those same evil practices. Which they eventually did.

Deuteronomy 12:31 King James Version (KJV)
31 Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

Deuteronomy 18:9 King James Version (KJV)
9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

That same decree has now been given to the righteous today to avoid and not associate with anyone who engages in these abominable sinful practices. Which today include blatant racism. Mass murder.Homosexual behavior. The practicing of witchcraft etc. 1 Corinthians 10:20-23…2 Corinthians 6:15-18

1 Corinthians 10:20-23 King James Version (KJV)
20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.

22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

2 Corinthians 6:15-18 King James Version (KJV)
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

The call for separation had nothing to do with race. That has always been a non issue with God. But it had everything to do with the abominable sinful behavior of those surrounding nations. But once Israel became the chosen people for the reasons outlined they remained the chosen people. That’s why God always refers to them as the chosen people. And that had nothing to do with race.

But physical Israel was divorced by God centuries ago because of their abominable evil behavior but will eventually be grafted back in. God’s focus right now is on spiritual Israel because of their willingness to submit to all of God’s requirements regarding obedience to the bible as a whole, spiritual matters, doctrine, works, etc.

But God choosing Israel as a nation had nothing to do with race and everything to do with the promises he made to Abraham because of Abraham’s obedience. And God calling for the separation of Israel from other nations had nothing to do with race and everything to do with the abominable evil behavior of those surrounding nations.

Race has never played a part in God’s decision to choose Israel. Or his call for them to be separate from other nations.nBut the behavior of those surrounding nations did.God is not a racist. And he hates racism.
