Bill Clinton was described in newly-unsealed court documents as ‘a key person’ in the lives of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who enjoyed a ‘close relationship with the pair’.
The former president, now 77, has long insisted that his connections to Epstein were on a professional basis, to aid the work of the Clinton Foundation. He insisted in 2019 that during his four trips on Epstein’s private jet, in 2002 and 2003, he was always accompanied by a retinue of staff and Secret Service agents.
But court documents from June 2016 – part of a defamation suit filed against Maxwell by one of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Roberts – paint a different picture, after another document saw Epstein accuse Clinton of ‘liking them young.’
A DailyMail.com photographer traveled to Bill and Hillary Clinton‘s home in Chappaqua, upstate New York on Wednesday night, but was kept well away from their home by local security. It is unclear where the Clintons are currently staying.
Roberts, in her filing, is seeking permission from the judge to force more people to sit for a deposition, to bolster her case.

Roberts – using her married name, Virginia Giuffre – argues that Clinton was close to both Maxwell and Epstein, who died in jail awaiting trial in August 2019.
‘In a 2011 interview, Ms. Giuffre mentioned former President Bill Clinton’s close personal relationship with Defendant and Jeffrey Epstein,’ the court document states.
‘While Ms. Giuffre made no allegations of illegal actions by Bill Clinton, Ms. Maxwell in her deposition raised Ms. Giuffre’s comments about President Clinton as one of the ‘obvious lies’ to which she was referring in her public statement that formed the basis of this suit.
‘Apart from the Defendant and Mr. Epstein, former President Clinton is a key person who can provide information about his close relationship with Defendant and Mr. Epstein and disapprove Ms. Maxwell’s claims.’
Clinton is mentioned 50 times in the almost 950-pages of evidence.
Another woman who claimed she was sexually abused by Epstein, Johanna Sjoberg, said in her deposition that Epstein told her ‘Clinton likes them young, referring to girls.’
It is unclear how Clinton and Epstein met, but Roberts was not the only one to claim the pair were close.

On Wednesday, hours before the court documents were unsealed, Jeffrey Epstein’s brother Mark, a New York-based property developer, said his sibling claimed to have information about Donald Trump and Bill Clinton which was so explosive it would derail the 2016 presidential election.

Mark Epstein, younger than Jeffrey by 18 months, said his brother never provided details.
Mark, 69, told The New York Post: ‘Here’s a direct quote: ‘If I said what I know about both candidates, they’d have to cancel the election.’ That’s what Jeffrey told me in 2016.’
Hillary Clinton was not known to spend time with Jeffrey Epstein, but her husband was a friend from at least 1993.

The pedophile financier made at least 17 visits to the White House, presidential logs show, and Bill Clinton also flew on Epstein’s private jet – making trips to Europe, Asia and Africa in 2002 and 2003.
Mark Epstein said that flying with Bill Clinton was a key mistake of his brother’s, because it suddenly shone a spotlight on his activities.
‘Jeff first took Clinton and I think it was Chris Tucker and some other people to Africa — which was a mistake my brother made by doing that, because prior to that he was under the radar; nobody was looking at him.
‘But when he flew Clinton there, it was like, ‘Who’s this guy flying Clinton?”
Bill Clinton’s spokesman Angel Urena said in July 2019, when Jeffrey Epstein was arrested, that he ‘knows nothing about the terrible crimes’ that Epstein was accused of, and that Clinton had not spoken to Epstein ‘in more than a decade.’
There is no evidence that Clinton ever visited Epstein’s Caribbean island, Little St. James.
The unsealing of the documents on Wednesday made uncomfortable reading for an array of famous faces, beyond Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.

Neither Clinton nor Trump are accused of having sex with any of Epstein’s victims, but Roberts claims that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew.
He denies those allegations and all claims of impropriety.
Sjoberg also accused the Prince of groping her breast.
Andrew has always strongly denied their claims. In March 2022 he paid a settlement to Roberts, officially ending her civil case against him, but without any admission of guilt.
At the time, he said he ‘never intended to malign Ms Giuffre’s character’ and he recognized she had ‘suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks’.
He also pledged to ‘demonstrate his regret for his association’ with Epstein.
Roberts also said she had sex with billionaire Hyatt hotel heir Tom Pritzker.
Pritzker is Hyatt Hotels’ executive chairman and the cousin of Illinois’ Democrat Governor JB Pritzker. He is chairman and CEO of the Pritzker Organization.

Pritzker’s other cousin – JB’s sister – is former Obama official Penny Pritzker, who now sits on Harvard’s oversight board, and who was instrumental in the appointment of Claudine Gay, who resigned as college president on Tuesday over anti-Semitism and plagiarism allegations.
In March, he was among three billionaires issued with subpoenas in relation to JPMorgan’s ties to Epstein.
A spokesperson for Pritzker – who has not been charged in connection with the Epstein case – denied Giuffre’s claims.
‘This is the same false and isolated allegation that was published and vehemently denied more than four years ago,’ the spokesperson said.
‘Mr. Pritzker continues to vehemently deny it.’
Investor Glenn Dubin is the first name to appear, in a transcript of a taped depostion with Maxwell where Maxwell was asked if Sjoberg had ever been asked to massage Dubin.
Maxwell answered: ‘I don’t believe, I have no recollection of it.’
Magician David Copperfield dined with Epstein, according to the court documents filed by Roberts, and asked Sjoberg if she knew that other girls were being paid to recruit young women.

Copperfield’s name was known to be in Epstein’s ‘Little Black Book’ – in 2020, a journalist with Mother Jones called all the phone numbers in the book – but his commentary had not previously been known.
Another guest of Epstein’s was Michael Jackson, according to the documents.
Sjoberg said that she met the singer at Epstein’s Palm Beach home – but was not asked to give him a massage.
Jackson died in June 2009 aged 50, and has himself been accused of pedophilia.
Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion was one of several sites where he sexually abused young girls.
The waterfront estate, just over a mile from Donald Trump ‘s Mar-a-Lago, went on the market in 2020 for $21.9 million but is believed to have been sold for $18 million.
Todd Michael Glaser, a Florida-based developer, now intends to demolish the existing house and build a new one in its place.
Others named in the documents are scientists and academics who Epstein courted – among them Professor Stephen Hawking, the British physicist.
Hawking visited Epstein’s island in 2006 for a meeting with other prominent scientists.
After the visit, Epstein, according to the court documents, sent an email to Maxwell urging her to rubbish comments that the disabled physicist participated in a pedophile orgy during his stay.
