Donald Bohanon: It’s absolutely foolish, and dangerous, and could have serious, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual repercussions. Any person who does something so foolish and ill-advised won’t be communicating with the spirits of dead ancestors but instead with demonic spirits and forces.
They would essentially be inviting demons into their lives and homes. Regardless of how they’ve been advised otherwise, they would be putting themselves and their love-ones in extreme physical, emotional, mental and spiritual danger. And if they actually happened to make contact with dead ancestors they would, in reality, be communicating with demons.
In such cases don’t be surprised if strange occurrences begin to happen around the house. Like things and items moving and such. In this case, you would probably need a man of God to cast the demons out because if not they can and will turn your life and the lives of your family members upside down. When relatives die they’re dead.
Their spirits are not walking among us communicating with us. That is a lie from Satan to deceive you in hopes that you may willingly invite him into your home and life, so he can wreak havoc in your life and destroy you and yours both physically and spiritually.
The body dies and goes back to the dust or dirt and the spirit (in an unconscious state) goes back to God who gave it. The dead know nothing and have no knowledge of anything and are merely awaiting a resurrection back to life to give an account for the things done in this physical body. Ecclesiastes 9:5, Ecclesiastes 12:7.
I would strongly advise against the very foolish practice of seeking to communicate with the spirits of dead relatives and or dead ancestors. God will never steer you wrong and he hates and condemns it for good reason. Because its a very dangerous practice that can have very dangerous and costly consequences.
God answers questions like these for you in his word. If you believe God you will never be deceived in such matters. The problem is most people will believe corrupt, carnal, men and women about matters relating to the occult, and the spirit world, etc, before they believe the incorruptible God.
