A married female high school choir teacher has been arrested after she was busted by her husband for having an affair with a female student.
The husband of Pennsylvania choir director Olivia Ortz, 26, from Hermitage, went to the authorities after he found over 100 incriminating messages between his wife and one of her teenage students.
Ortz was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of sexual activity with a 17-year-old student at Wilmington Area High School and one count each of unlawful contact with a minor for sexual offenses and criminal use of a communication facility.
Her husband, Cody Ortz, who works in the same school’s music department on a freelance basis, came back from a recent trip to Florida and discovered the inappropriate exchanges on his wife’s Spotify chat function on her iPad, the NY Post report.
Cody reported her to the school principal and Ortz was suspended with pay on May 9 and a warrant for her arrest was issued on Friday May 13.

Despite the arrest warrant Ortz did not turn herself in immediately but sang in a local concert two days later on Sunday before giving herself up the following day, according to reports.
She was arraigned by a district judge, who committed her to the Lawrence County jail on a $150,000 bond, which she posted.
In an uncomfortable twist of fate, Ortz’s predecessor at the high school is also facing similar charges of sexual misconduct with students.
Jonathan Priano, 37, is accused of having a predilection for tickling his students’ feet and forming inappropriate relationships with them.

Charges were filed against the former band and music teacher in June 2020
Investigators found – with her husband’s help – over 100 incriminating messages between Ortz and the 17-year-old student that form the basis for the prosecution against Ortz.
The criminal complaint specifies that Ortz and the teen had a code word to warn each other should something go wrong in their dalliance or should ‘something bad’ happen to either of them.
The teenager admitted to police under questioning that she had been to Ortz’s house many times while Cody was away and that she had stayed over night and they had had sex.
In a further police interview with the teen and her parents she admitted that she had continued to communicate with Ortz after they had been busted because ‘they were in love and needed to support each other’.
She reported to police she stayed overnight at Ortz’s house April 7, 8 and 9 and that they had a sexual relationship during that time, according to the court papers. Read more:
