And when those bricks come tumbling down, Joe Biden better cover his head.
Wednesday’s jaw-dropping implosion of Hunter Biden‘s sweetheart plea deal – delivered to him on a silver platter by his daddy’s Justice Department – is too shocking for even the left-wing lapdog press to completely ignore.
When Federal Judge Maryellen Noreika blew a faint breath at the proposed agreement, it fell apart like a house of cards.
The judge simply asked government prosecutors and Hunter’s lawyers if the deal would shield him from future charges that may arise from the DOJ’s five-year probe, including any wrongdoing stemming from Hunter’s lucrative consulting work with companies in China, Romania and Ukraine.
Hunter’s attorney Chris Clark said it would. DOJ prosecutor Leo Wise said it wouldn’t. And the you-know-what hit the fan.
The two legal teams got together and hammered out a compromise only for the deal to far apart again over a potentially unconstitutional provision that put the judge in charge of Hunter’s probation.
That’s not how these things work, she explained.
So no, this wasn’t getting rubber stamped.
First of all, what the heck is the DOJ up to?
But do we really think that federal prosecutors and Hunter’s high-priced legal team didn’t discuss this all beforehand?
Sure, Hunter’s lawyer was caught smoking a bong on the balcony of his Los Angeles home last week, but he surely must have been clear-headed during working hours.

No, I believe that Hunter, his team and the DOJ thought they were going to waltz in and out of court. They thought everyone would look the other way, because this is the President’s son, and everyone knows that he gets special treatment.
Thank goodness for at least one honest woman in the federal judiciary. Judge Noreika was appointed during the Trump administration, but she was approved by Delaware’s Democratic senators, so she is far from some right-wing hack.
This all only adds to suspicions that the DOJ’s inexplicably long, five-year probe into Hunter that only resulted in slap-on-the-wrist charges for tax evasion and gun charges was a complete and utter sham.
That’s not to mention the sworn testimony of two veteran IRS agents turned whistleblowers who say the Justice Department stymied their investigation, tipped off Hunter’s team to their search warrants, and blocked prosecutors from charging Hunter for even more serious crimes.
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and this is a burning inferno.
Any journalist worth their salt should be salivating over it.
But will they suddenly lose their appetites?
You see, the Biden legal team wanted the DOJ to legally indemnify Hunter, just like he’s been effectively indemnified from public criticism.
The narrative the White House has been spinning for years now is that poor, pathetic Hunter is an addict, so no one – not him and certainly not his father – bears any blame for his behavior over the last few decades or so.
It goes something like this:
Hunter has a child out of wedlock and abandons her.
How dare you talk about that?
Grandpa Joe refuses to acknowledge the little girl’s existence.
Isn’t it rude to discuss a private family affair?
Hunter lies on a federal firearms form.
Aren’t you shaming someone with substance abuse issues?

Hunter fails to pay taxes on years of income, as foreigners with criminal links and ties to America’s enemies pour buckets of cash into his pockets.
Can’t we put that behind us?
Last month, when news of Hunter’s deal with the DOJ broke, unofficial Biden campaign surrogate and co-host of The View, Ana Navarro, was practically hysterical in declaring that ‘the Hunter Biden story is actually about a father’s love for his son, and he will never give up on his son.’
Okay, girl. Anyone with six brain cells and intellectual honesty can see the truth.
When Hunter is insulated from criticism, so is his father.
But that narrative burst wide open in that Delaware courtroom.
The New York Times and their ilk are embarrassingly late to this story, but even they can’t ignore that what happened was bad for Hunter, but immeasurably worse for Joe.
Just read what New York Times Chief White House correspondent Peter Baker said while inside the Democrat-friendly confines of an MSNBC interview.
‘For President Biden it’s not just about a wayward son but about whether or not he had something to do with his wayward son’s business dealings and that’s still an open question.’
Oh, welcome to the party, Peter. And he didn’t stop there.
‘President Biden’s Hunter narrative is a little harder to make right now,’ Baker remarked, noting that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has now stopped claiming that Joe ‘never’ discussed business with his son. Now, Jean-Pierre says Joe was ‘never in business’ with his son.

That may seem subtle, but it’s not.
If President Biden lied about his involvement in Hunter’s shady enterprises, what else is he lying about?
President Biden has said that he has not and would not interfere in the investigation of his son. Well, maybe that’s worth looking into, especially after his unbelievably botched plea deal.
The accumulating evidence is impossible to ignore.
The IRS whistleblowers. Hunter’s text messages to Chinese business partners demanding millions of dollars and threatening that he was ‘sitting here with my father.’ The White House backing off from Joe’s official line that never spoke to his son about overseas business deals.
Does this mean the left will finally stop running interference for Hunter and Joe and start – gasp – reporting on it?
I won’t hold my breath, but here’s what I do know.
Honest Americans cannot look at this and say it’s all on the up and up. It stinks to high heaven.
As Democrats often say, the walls are closing in.
Only this time, they’re closing in on Joe.
