Facts. Character Trumps (No Pun Intended) Personality.

Because in the world we live in today personalities are not guaranteed to be authentic representations of the individual themselves. In many cases personality displays can be forms of deception and manipulation used to get next to and spark an interest from specific unsuspecting individuals for nefarious reasons.

For example, a person can begin to display personality traits that are completely out of character just to get next to a person of interest. That’s one way you can determine if it’s a true representation of the individual or not. Is the personality display totally out of line with what you have normally seen in the individual? If it is, it’s probably a form of deception and manipulation as a means to an end.

With Godly character you can be pretty sure of what you are getting because a person of Godly character is grounded in behavioral patterns that accurately represent biblical instruction and they don’t normally stray from that. They don’t engage in deceptive tactics to get next to others just to accomplish some objective motivated by lust or greed etc.

And that doesn’t mean a person of character has no personality. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are just more reserved and measured around people they don’t know. Once you get to know them you will see their personality shine through and they can be just as funny and engaging as a person who leads with personality, fake or genuine. People of character are not boring necessarily they are just more reserved and measured until they get to know you better and feel more comfortable lowering their guard a little.
